Fine example of a cork Ellwood sun helmet ( solar topee ).
Officers private purchase.
No military markings but does have the hook on chin strap as found on military examples.
White Blancoed.
6 panel crown
Large multi fold pugarree.
Good leather chin strap.
Silk and Morocco leather sweatband with owners name FRASER applied in ink.( Unit he served with to buyer )
He was involved in the Italian campaign.
Approx size 55 / 56.
The inside is beautiful with the leather ellwood label to crown still present and large black ink stamp.
Also has impressed details to the brass air vent.
